Sean Bellafiore Biography

Sean Bellafiore is an American Meteorologist working as a morning meteorologist at KWTX-TV. He joined the station in November 2015.

Sean received a Master’s Degree in Geoscience/Applied Meteorology from Mississippi State University after completing his courses with a 4.0 GPA. Bellafiore studied at the University of Florida and worked for 24-hour news, weather, and sports station in Gainesville while completing his undergraduate degree.

He covered hurricanes, tornadoes, thunderstorms, and even some winter weather during that time. Bellafiore earned a Bachelor of Science in Telecommunications and Meteorology and Climatology Certificate from the University of Florida in 2015.

Bellafiore works with KWTX-TV where he serves the station as a Meteorologist. He is a seasoned member of the most trusted severe weather team in Central Texas. He has experience in forecasting and tracking storms whether it is on-air, on social media, and or out of the Weather Edge storm-chasing unit.

Sean lived in New York during his childhood, quickly gaining a passion for weather after experiencing thunderstorms, blizzards, and cold weather. His passion for meteorology continues to grow after moving to Florida and being struck by Hurricane Frances within two weeks of moving. The active weather pattern in Florida helped push Sean to pursue a career in Meteorology.

Away from work, he enjoys storm chasing, cooking, and traveling. Additionally, he also enjoys lunch or dinner at many Central Texas staples. He is always looking forward to suggestions on new restaurants and trying different things to do in Central Texas. He is proud to be part of The Weather Authority and looks forward to telling the daily weather story, and passing along potentially life-saving information when severe weather strikes.
