Eric Perkins is an American Emmy Award-Winning content director and former anchor and reporter working at Perk at Play Productions in Greater Minneapolis. He started working at Perk at Play Productions in March 2022. He previously worked at KARE 11 where he served as the Sports Director and Sports Anchor from 1997 to August 2021.

Perkins serves as a content director working at Perk at Play Productions in Greater Minneapolis. In addition to his role at Perk at Play Production, he is also working at 94.1 The Loon KKLN-FM where he serves as a radio show host of the daily Eric Perkins Sports Drive at 4:35 pm and 5:35 pm since June 2009 in Willmar, Minneapolis.
Perkins previously worked at KARE 11 where he served as a host, anchor, reporter, and sports director. During his tenure at KARE 11, he also served as the Saturday morning show anchor, and host of the Emmy Award-winning “Trippin’ with Perk” segment as well as the Emmy award-winning Perk at Play segment. He also worked for AirVuz, LLC where he served as a content contributor from August 2015 to July 2018 in Greater Minneapolis-St. Paul Area.
Prior to that, he worked at 96.3K-TWIN where he served as a morning radio host from January 2012 to December 2014 in Greater Minneapolis-St. Paul Area. While here, he co-hosted the weekday 6 am to 9 am radio show. He started his journalism career at WHBQ-TV where he served as a sports anchor and reporter from 1994 to 1997 in Greater Memphis Area.
Perkins is a graduate of Pepperdine University, where he majored in Broadcasting and his favorite subject in school was Espanol. In 1997, he was given a chance to cover a series, which won an Emmy Award, and other awards. The series involved; ski-jumping to bullfighting, driving a car in a demolition derby to playing baseball for the St. Paul Saints.
Whenever he is not working, he enjoys spending his free time with his family and friends. He also enjoys watching his favorite movies; “Star Wars”, “Willy Wonka”, and “Zoolander.” In addition to that, he also loves reading his beloved book, “Oh the Places You’ll Go” by Dr. He also loves enjoys listening to his favorite album songs(Michael Jackson songs) and eating his favorite dish, sushi.

Perkins publicized that he would be leaving KARE 11 in late July 2022 after 25 years of service. He stated, “I am filled with excitement and gratitude as I begin this next chapter of my career.” In August 2022, he started working at Perk at Play Productions in Greater Minneapolis where he serves as a content director.
