Eric Weisfeld Biography
Eric Weisfeld is an American journalist working for WMBF as a primary anchor. He joined the network in March 2016 and was serving as an anchor.
Eric Weisfeld Career
Weisfeld anchors the 4 p.m., 5 p.m., 6 p.m., 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. news each weeknight. He had also worked with other stations prior to joining WMBF in 2016. Previously, he had worked for a station in Columbia, S.C., and served as the weeknight Anchor for five years. He also spent some time working for WWAG (TV-43) and served as a producer and within time was given a raise and was now the station’s main evening anchor. Due to his good skills in anchoring for the station, he was awarded “Best Low Power Station in the Country.”
Weisfeld then moved to WEHT Evansville, Indiana where he served as an anchor. He, later on, went to serve as an anchor and launched the investigative unit in Raleigh, North Carolina to a station known as (WLFL). He also hosted and produced “Scared Straight in the Triangle” a documentary that entails the problems that the youth go through. The documentary received an Edward R. Murrow Regional Award and he was the one enclosing Hurricane Bonnie from the Outer Banks for the very first time.
Weisfeld went back home in 2000(Indianapolis) and managed to work for RTV6 as an investigative reporter and anchor. He was the first Indy anchor to report live from New York City the morning following the September 11 terror attacks. He also worked in Southwest Florida in WBBH and WZVN (sister stations) in Fort Myers where he served as an anchor.
Weisfield’s career started in the small town of Hopkinsville, Kentucky almost 25 years ago after attending Indiana University’s School of Journalism where he graduated with a double major in Speech Communications and Journalism. Whenever he is not at work, he prefers exploring the area’s spectacular beaches or renovating his home. He is very much proud of having the opportunity to work for the station and its fantastic location.
