Robert Whitehurst is an American meteorologist working for WMBF. He joined the network in June 2013 and served as the weekend morning meteorologist.

Whitehurst is a meteorologist who is on air every weekday at 4 PM and 11 PM. He had worked with other networks prior to joining WMBF. Previously, he worked for Raycom Media’s sister station WDAM in Hattiesburg, Mississippi where he worked for two years. He was also a student meteorologist working for 4FSU Weather, whereby he was the only daily produced, live, student-run, half-hour weather show in the whole nation. He was nonetheless, an intern at WCTV, the local CBS affiliate in Tallahassee, Florida.
Whitehurst began his career at WDAM in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and served as the Weekend Meteorologist right after he finished his college studies. He also managed to enclose major weather ranges like severe weather, hurricanes, snow, and extreme heat. Additionally, his most unforgettable encounter is his coverage of an EF-4 tornado that wreaked terror through south Mississippi in February of 2013.
It is evidently believed that the tornado had winds of up to 170 mph and moved thousands of miles as he covered the storm live on air. Whitehurst has also won several awards and nominations ever since he started his career as a meteorologist. He is also proud of calling coastal South Carolina his home.
