Erin Jones is an American journalist working for KTVT as a reporter since joining the station in April 2018. Previously, she worked for KVUE in Austin, Texas, as a reporter for 2 years.

Jones joined the University of North Texas’s Mayborn School of Journalism after finishing her studies at Plano Senior High School. She later graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism. After graduating from college, she worked as an anchor and reported at news stations in Sherman, Tulsa and Austin.
Jones got her first taste of severe weather at KOTV in Tulsa, where she covered several tornadoes. She investigated sex offenders who registered as homeless to elude detection on the state’s sex offender registry mapping, prompting changes in the mapping system. She worked for a morning show that won the Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters Outstanding Achievement Award.
During her time in Austin, Jones worked as an evening reporter for KVUE. There, she broadcast bombings that tormented the city for weeks, the most fatal hot air balloon crash in America’s history, and the effects of Hurricane Harvey. She loves to meet other North Texans and listen to their stories.
