Garrett Short is an American sports reporter working for WSMV-TV serving as a sports reporter and MMJ. Previously, he worked for WNCT-TV in Greenville, North Carolina where he served as a sports reporter and anchor.

Short serves as a sports reporter and MMJ at WSMV-TV in Nashville, Tennesse. Before joining WSMV-TV in September 2023, he worked at WNCT-TV as a sports reporter and anchor. While there, he covered mostly sports events such as the ACC men’s basketball tournament and East Carolina football bowl games. He served the station for two years from September 2021 to August 2023. Earlier, Garrett worked in Rochester, Minnesota as a sports reporter at KAAL-TV, the ABC 6 News from June 2019 to June 2021.
Garrett previously spent two years and eleven months working for Indiana State Sports Network as a broadcaster. He began his journalism career at WZIS Z90.7FM in Terre Haute, Indiana where he served as a sports director. He worked for the station for ten months from August 2017 to May 2018.
Prior to joining WZIS Z90.7FM, Short served as a production assistant at WTHI-TV from September 2016 to June 2017. While there, he was responsible for operating cameras, editing, and writing scripts. Earlier, Garrett served as a radio production intern at Lakeshore Public Radio in Merrillville. During his time there, he was responsible for producing news stories, gathering news, and editing videos.
