Gianna Franco is an American Emmy Award-Winning journalist working for KPIX5 serving as a traffic anchor as well as a reporter. She joined KPIX5 in 2008.
Gianna Franco Career
Franco is on air as the weekday Traffic Anchor on KPIX5 and has been assisting the Bay Area in navigating the freeways for years now. On joining KPIX5, she started off serving as a producer and a fill-in traffic anchor. She had also worked for other stations prior to joining KPIX5. She previously worked as a news, traffic, and sports anchor and reporter for several radio stations. Some of the stations she worked for include KNBR and KCBS and recently worked for 95.7 The Game where she served as an anchor and host talking sports and scores.
Franco also spent some time working for the local NBC affiliate while still in high school where she anchored a half-hour news broadcast. Her love and passion for broadcasting began when she was still in high school after working for the NBC affiliate. After her time with the NBC affiliate, she was offered a college scholarship and attained her degree in Broadcast Journalism from Pasadena city college. She, later on, joined Arizona State University. She also worked for ABC in San Diego, Access Hollywood in Los Angeles, and FOX in Phoenix. Franco also worked for FOX Sports where she served as a National Update Anchor.
Franco enjoys spending her time with her husband Pete and their two sons. She also finds pleasure in reading and traveling whenever she is not at work. Additionally, she is also very active on her social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
