Hayba works with WDRB News where she serves the station as a Weekend Morning News Anchor and joined the station as a General Assignment Reporter. Hayba is a proud native of a small town in Northern Virginia and had always desired to move to Kentucky. She is a proud graduate of Penn State University and kick-started her career working as a reporter and producer at WEHT in Evansville, Indiana. There, she learned more about reporting on both sides of the Ohio River.
While she was in college, she was awarded a Broadcast Education Association award for her work as a student anchor working with The Centre County Report. She also had several internships which took her to newsrooms across the country, from Washington, D.C. to Los Angeles.
Her dreams of being a journalist began in her childhood when she had to give presentations on national news and trends to her fifth-grade class. Asides from this, she has also read the morning announcements, which were broadcast live to all the school’s televisions. Hayba states that it was a combination of the experiences and the support of her fifth-grade teacher which inspired her to pursue a career in broadcast journalism. Away from work, she loves spending time with her siblings and finding the best food spots in Kentuckiana.
