Hope Salman is an American reporter working for WBBH-TV serving as a fill-in anchor and reporter. Previously, she served as a multimedia journalist and reporter at WIFR-TV in Rockford, Illinois.

Hope Salman Education

Salman went to school at Mother McAuley Liberal Arts High School in 2007 where she graduated in 2011. She then enrolled at Loyola University Chicago where she attained a minor in English and a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast and Electronics in 2015.

During her time at college, Hope was hired at WGN-TV where she served as a production assistant from December 2013 to May 2014. She also wrote stories for “Larry’s World”​ show and created segments such as “Friday Dance”. After that, she secured a postion as a reporter and anchor at WLUW 88.7 Radio in Chicago. She also filled in as an anchor from September 2019 to November 2020.

Hope began her career in March 2017 working as an assignment editor and field producer at ABC 7 in Chicago. She also helped in gathering news, conducting interviews, and researching news tips. She served the station for three years from March 2016 to September 2019. Previously, Salman served as a social media director at OT Auto Sales from October 2015 to December 2018.

Prior to working at OT Auto Sales, Hope worked for 129 Steps Startup Company as a reporter, director, and content Strategist. As a reporter, she co-created promotional scripts and organized the hiring process. She also facilitated interviews and served the station for five months.

Aside from working as a journalist, Salman spent seven months working as a bank teller at Chase from October 2015 to April 2016. Before that, she worked as a sales associate cashier at Dick’s Sporting Goods. In addition to this, she also worked at Southwest Ice Arena where she served as an assistant figure skating coach. She spends two years working for the company from August 2006 to August 2008.
