Galer attended and graduated from Canton High School where she served as a morning announcement. She then enrolled at the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2011 where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism in 2015. Galer serves as a weekday anchor at 4 & 11 p.m. on WBBH in Fort Myers, Florida. Prior to joining WBBH News in January 2020, she worked in Las Vegas, Nevada as an anchor and reporter at FOX5 News. As a reporter, Kyla was responsible for editing videos, writing scripts, and delivering news. In addition, her series on school buses won her an Emmy award. She served the station for two years from November 2018 to November 2020.
Earlier, Galer worked at KKTV 11 News in Colorado Springs where she served as a reporter and multimedia journalist. She also covered breaking news starting from devastating wildfires to booming marijuana industry to criminal cases. For her excellent work, she was known by the Colorado Broadcasters Association. Before working at KKTV 11 News, Kyla served as a promotion assistant at CBS Radio from June 2014 to August 2015. Her duties included inviting musical artists and helping in planning and promoting events.
Galer started her professional career at UVC-TV 19 in Amherst serving as a news director before later accepting a position as a news producer. Previously, she served as an intern at ABC40 and FOX6 WGGB from September 2013 to December 2013. Before this, Kyla spent three months working for WHDH-TV where she served as an intern. As an intern, she was in charge of maintaining network programs and assisted in delivering daily news.
