Jacob Dickey Biography
Jacob Dickey is an American Meteorologist working for WCIA Channel 3 serving as a meteorologist. He joined the station in November 2020 and previously, he worked as a meteorologist at KSWO, the Gray Television affiliate in Lawton, Oklahoma.
Jacob Dickey Education
Dickey attended Parkland College in 2011 before later transferring to the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Science Education in 2015. He was involved in various clubs such as PAS, Collegiate Farm Bureau, CFFA, Alpha Tau Alpha, and Model United Nations. While there, Jacob worked as a communication specialist intern at the Campus station where he created and designed workshops. He also worked with traditional media and promoted Agricultural Education to high school students.
Later on, Dickey worked as a communication and marketing intern from May 2013 to December 2015. During his time there, he produced literature promotion materials for FSHN and established a marketing campaign for Bevier Cafe. He also created alumni profiles for FSHN Department Graduates and developed materials for the Institute of Food Technologists 2013 Annual Meeting.
Previously, he worked as an agricultural ambassador at the National FFA Organisation in Urbana-Champaign, Illinois. As an agricultural ambassador, Jacob managed schedules, established workshops, and represented the agricultural industry. In May 2014, he secured a position as a Washington Leadership Conference facilitator at the National FFA Organisation before later working as a 212-360 conference facilitator.
Before joining National FFA, Jacob worked as district IV student director at Illinois Association FFA. During his tenure there, he promoted agricultural education to legislatures and represented high school agricultural education programs. In 2016, he enrolled at Illinois University Chicago where he graduated with a certificate in Nonprofit Management. While still attending Illinois University, Dickey also furthered his studies at Mississippi State University where he attained a Master of Geoscience in Broadcast Meteorology in 2019. He also served as a program director at the Mississippi FFA Association from September 2018 to February 2019.

Jacob started his career at WCIA Channel 3 working as a storm chaser, meteorology intern, and field reporter. During his period at WCIA-TV, he was in charge of providing breaking news, creating videos, and delivering weather coverage. Aside from working as a journalist, Dickey worked as a delivery driver at Campus Florist in Urbana-Champaign from February 2013 to February 2015.
Prior to working for Campus Florist, he served as a sandwich artist at Subway in Gibson City from September 2012 to August 2013. Previously, Dickey worked as a national executive committee at SADD where he established learning campaign materials for students. He also provided resources and worked as a youth voice where he educated students on ways to prevent peer pressure and its effects. Jacob served the station for five months from May 2011 to September 2011.
