Jared Aarons is an American Emmy award-winning journalist currently working as a morning and 11 a.m. reporter. He joined 10News in September 2014.
Jared Aarons Career
Jared worked for KGAN/KFXA in Cedar Rapids, Iowa for ten years before joining 10News. He won two Emmys as the top sports anchor in the Upper Midwest region while working as the station’s sports director. He was also honored by the Iowa Broadcast News Association and the Iowa Associated Press. He covered the Masters, the Super Bowl, a few college bowl games, several NCAA tournaments, and countless high school sports events ranging from football to girls’ volleyball.
Jared began his broadcasting career as a news and sports reporter and anchor at KXLF in Butte, Montana. While there, Jared concentrated on city government and economic development as the city struggled to navigate an economic downturn.
Jared attended Arizona State University. He’s a die-hard Sun Devils, Diamondbacks, and Suns fan, with a dash of Arizona Cardinals and New York Yankees thrown in for good measure. He still has a large family scattered throughout the Southwest, so moving to San Diego was a great way for him to get closer to home and reconnect with his roots. In his spare time, Jared enjoys running on the beach, going to the movies, collecting bobbleheads, and attempting to never eat at the same restaurant twice.
