Jason Wheeler Biography

Jason Wheeler is an American anchor, editor, and host who is currently working at WFAA. He serves as the editor/ producer of Right on the Money, and co-host of the Y’all-itics Texas political podcast which airs on weekdays from 4 pm to 5 pm. 

Jason Wheeler Education

Wheeler joined the University of Houston in 1990 and studied from its School of Communication. He graduated with a Bachelor’s, Radio-Television Communications in 1994. 

Jason Wheeler Career

Over the years, he has been recognized with; a State Bar of Texas Gavel Award, three Emmy Awards, two Edward R. Murrow Awards, RTDNA/NEFE Excellence in Personal Finance Reporting Award, and multiple Texas Associated Press Awards.

Texas City is her native home. He secure his first job in El Paso and later on, he went ahead to work in San Antonio, Miami, Austin, and then Dallas. His career has taken him to a number of phenomenal adventures from the Amazon rainforest to the presidential campaign trail to the decks of aircraft carriers at sea to a front-row view of space shuttle launches to the vortexes of many hurricanes. 

In addition, from1996 from 1998, he worked at WPGH-TV where he served as a reporter and editor for Smart Money.  He later joined KENS 5 in 1998 where he served as an anchor and reporter to 2002. Furthermore, he has also worked at  WFOR in Miami where he served as an anchor and reporter from 2002 to the year 2006.

In 2007, he joined  KEYE-TV as the anchor of the 5 pm newscast and host of Austin Live’ lifestyle entertainment show. Later in 2012, was when he hoined the WFAA team. During his leisure time, he enjoys traveling, reading a book, swimming, cycling, and hiking.

Jason Wheeler Tesla

Tesla is an American electric vehicle and clean energy company based in Austin, Texas. The company designs and manufactures electric cars, battery energy storage from home to grid-scale, solar panels and solar roof tiles, and related products and services.

Jason served as the  Chief Financial Officer(CFO) of the company from  2015, However, on  February 22, 2017, Tesla made an announcement that Wheeler had decided to leave the company in April to pursue opportunities in public policy. Jason was later replaced by Deepak Ahuja, who was Tesla’s first CFO and worked for the company for more than seven years before stepping away in 2015.
