Jeff Martinez is an American Meteorologist working with KTVN Channel 2 News where he serves the station as a Morning Meteorologist. He has been working with the station since October 2012.

Martinez works with KTVN-TV where he serves the station as a Morning Meteorologist. He has been forecasting the weather in Reno and northern Nevada for around 20 years, ten of these years being spent at 2 News This Morning where he still works.
In his career, he has seen some of the bigger storms that have hit the northern Nevada area since he kick-started his career. He has also been able to cover stories from the record snowfall in the Siera in 2010, the New Year’s Flood of 2005, droughts, wildfires, and the heat.
Asides from being a meteorologist, he happens to be a licensed pilot. Martinez holds the AMS CBM Seal of Approval and his weather career has been able to take him all over the country. This is from Chicago to Anchorage, San Francisco, San Antonio, and Sacramento.
Away from work, he enjoys skiing around Lake Tahoe and camping with his kids while tracking Nevada’s challenging weather patterns. Asides from that, he is an avid hiker, skier, and ace drone pilot, featuring his flying videos during the weather.
Additionally, he loves the outdoors, going storm chasing when the big storms move and photographing amazing weather and clouds. He also loves to call northern Nevada home and enjoys bringing the weather news to his viewers every morning from 4:30 AM -7 AM on 2 News.
