Jeremy Goodwin Biography

Jeremy Goodwin is an American meteorologist working at WIBW where he serves as the chief meteorologist he can be seen on weekdays at 5, 6, and 10 pm. He joined the WIBW team in January 2001, after previously working at FOX23. 

Morocco is his native home and his father was in the Navy at the time. Later on, they relocated to Poplar Bluff, Missouri where he gained an interest in thunderstorms while still a child. Jeremy attended the University of Missouri Columbia where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Soils and Atmospheric Science.

In addition, he is certified by the American Meteorological Society and he became the 98th meteorologist worldwide to obtain the title of “Certified Broadcast Meteorologist”. Goodwin secure his first job in Jefferson City, Missouri where he worked at KRCG-TV, and he can recall the 30-mile drive to work at 3 am as he was on the morning shift.

Later in February 2001, he joined WIBW-TV, and while at the station, he experienced everything in Kansas from tornadoes to blizzards. While working at WIBW-TV, he has reported temperatures ranging from -20 to 110 degrees. During his leisure time, he enjoys driving toward some of the nastiest clouds in the world.
