Jeremy Pierre Biography

Jeremy Pierre is an American journalist working for WHBQ FOX 13 as an anchor of FOX13’s Good Morning Memphis on Saturday and Sunday. He joined the station in May 2015 and has served the station for over a decade.

Pierre joined Xavier University of Louisiana after finishing his studies at St. Augustine High School – New Orleans in 2007. In 2011, he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communication and Media Studies, focusing on Broadcasting. During college, he was involved with Gold Rush Basketball, Xavier Herald, X-TV, AMA, NABJ, and PRSSA.

Pierre kick-started his reporting career as an intern at WDSU Channel 6, an NBC affiliate. He then moved to Monroe, Louisiana, to work as a general assignment reporter at KNOE. He has always been passionate about the news and strives to deliver fair, accurate and balanced stories.

Pierre especially loves sharing stories from the communities he serves. He serves as a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity and the National Association of Black Journalists. Moreover, he is a mentor in NABJÕs high school journalism program.

NABJ named Pierre the 2013 Region V student journalist of the year. He also won the first Ted Holtzclaw Journalism Excellence Award in the NABJ multimedia short course. He is a musician at heart who loves living in Memphis and is thrilled to share the stories of people from the region.
