Carter is an American meteorologist working at News 9 where he serves as a Storm Tracker. He first became more fascinated when he was a child watching lightning with his dad on the porch with Oklahoma weather. Having a father who owns a roofing company, they would keep a close eye on the weather. As he continued being older his desire to see a tornado in person grew.
He began his first job after having chased tornadoes for more than three years in 1998. Carter began his plans in driving and chasing thousands of miles. He also learned the nature of supercells which had enabled him over the last 23 years to see many tornadoes. Additionally, he also was a firsthand witness to the most powerful forces of nature including the El Reno wedge tornado of 2013, Hurricane Ike on the Texas coast, historic flooding, the massive Dewey County fire of 2018, and many other several weather events.
Later in 2013, he began his tenure as a storm tracker in Oklahoma City tracking all types of weather in Oklahoma. He went to Westmoore High School and graduated with the class of ’95. Additionally, he also tenures in the construction industry and is also a native Oklahoman. He is also a proud grandfather.
