Brown tenures at 12News where he serves as a StormTracker who joined the network in 1998. He acquired his great passion for severe weather from his father who exposed him to it at an early age. His first memory was when he and his dad stood on the porch watching a tornado while the rest of the family was in the basement calling them crazy.
Due to his interest in severe weather and photography, he was tenured at News 9 as a storm tracker. There he chased various tornadoes for the NEWS 9 weather team and Gary England for thousand miles. He also has witnessed several tornadoes including the Moore tornado on May 3, 1999, that happened in his own neighborhood.
Brown considers warning his fellow Oklahomans of impending severe weather danger a privilege and honor. His wife Patty is his chase partner and they together are blessed with four kids. They are involved in the Oklahoma City youth at Eagle Heights Church. He also tenures local missions that include the Whiz Kids program at an inner-city Oklahoma City Public School. Brown is a proud member of the church’s mission leadership team.
