Jesslyn Ferentz is an American Meteorologist working with ABC 7 News in Southwest Florida where she serves the station as a Meteorologist. She has been working with the station since June 2020.

Ferentz works with ABC7 Weather Team as a Meteorologist where she has been working since June 2020. While growing up in Harrisburg, North Carolina, right outside Charlotte, she got to experience a wide range of weather. Her passion began when she was young, watching storms with her dad. She states that his “old wives’ tales” about the weather made her want to figure out the truth behind the atmosphere.

In relation to this, she joined East Carolina University where she studied Atmospheric Science and graduated in the year 2017. After her graduation, she went on to move to Wilmington, North Carolina, where she was working as a weekend evening meteorologist and reporter at WECT.

While there, she covered Hurricane Dorian, flooding events, and tornado damage. This was in addition to covering Hurricane Florence, as it made landfall just miles from her previous station. Away from work, she enjoys traveling to new places, giving cuddles to her adorable cat Getzy, piña coladas, getting caught in the rain, finding new restaurants, and kayaking.
