Jim Hice is an American producer/director working for KCEN-TV Belton, Texas, where he serves the station as the News Director. He officially joined the station on June 2014.

Hice is the News Director for KCEN-TV, Temple, Texas. Hice time at KCEN has proven a lot of change, from personnel to a brand new building in Temple. The station is so far excited about the future and truly committed to content transformation and its audience. Previously, he worked as the Assistant News Director for four years at WHAS-TV TEGNA’s station in Louisville before moving to Central Texas.
He got interested to become a journalist after his work acquiring a former “Big Tobacco” executive to expose company secrets. In the movie, The Insider, Pacino played the role of a 60 Minutes Producer. Hice began his career as a journalist working as an editor at KCBD-TV in Lubbock, Texas in 2000. In 2003 he left the station with his wife and joined WAVE-TV in Louisville with a job opportunity as a producer.
In 2005, they made their next move to Tampa and worked at WFTS-TV where Jim served the station as a producer and Executive Producer. Hice then returned to WHAS-TV in Louisville, after surviving the Florida housing market crash. Throughout his career, Jim has won several awards including an Emmy Award and two Edward R. Murrow awards, from the Radio Television Digital News Association, for broadcasting excellence. Hice attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts((BA) and Telecommunications in 2000.
