Jim Jaggers Biography
Jim Jaggers is an American Meteorologist working with WREG3 News where he serves the station as Meteorologist. He has been reporting weather news both on television and radio in Memphis since the year 1978.

He attended Michigan State University where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Telecommunications with a minor in Theater and Journalism and has a Masters of Science degree from what was then Memphis State University in Geography concentrating in Atmospheric Sciences.

Jaggers works with News Channel 3 where he serves the station as a Meteorologist and has been forecasting weather news on television and radio since the year 1978. His weather news can be seen every evening at 5 and 10 PM or live on air with Tim Simpson when severe weather strikes.
Jaggers is proud of his AMS Certified Broadcast Meteorologist designation. This has a meaning that the American Meteorological Society certifies that Jim is a meteorologist in the field of broadcasting. Him, he states that there are many types of meteorologists; the AMS for the first time is putting its international scientific reputation and credibility behind its education, experience, and knowledge. Additionally, he also spends a great deal of time with The American Meteorological Society.
He has been the chairman of the Board of Broadcast Meteorology and also served on the Broadcast Board judging AMS Seal candidates. He has also assisted the AMS in writing and implementing the news Certified Broadcast Meteorology test that will eventually replace the original AMS Seal.
Additionally, he also has Seals of Approval from both the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association in both television and radio forecasting. He and Tim Simpson won an Emmy in 2008 for Breaking News of the February 5th, 2008 tornado that hit Shelby County in the Whitehaven area. Away from work, he spends time with his wife and family and also directs the Choir at Scenic Hills United Methodist Church.

Jim Jaggers In Hawaii
In 2018, a false alarm went off while Jaggers and his family were in Kaui. The alarm warned of a ballistic missile headed for Hawaii thus sending the people on the island to panic. Hawaii officials later said it was a mistake that won’t happen. The alarm went off when someone hit the wrong button during a shift change. Jaggers tweeted a photo of his family sheltered in a closet and said that he’d try to report to his ability.

Justin is Jaggers’ son. Inspired by his father’s endeavors to raise funds for Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital by riding his bike annually for Go Jim Go, he found his own way to help local children i.e. Musicians for Le Bonheur. Musicians for Le Bonheur stands for artists from the Memphis area who trust in the healing power of music and want to utilize their talents for the greater good.
Through the Musicians for Le Bonheur, he works alongside Le Bonheur child life specialists to schedule artists to come to the hospital and perform in the hospital’s event Space. Also, they visit patients in their rooms when they find it hard to leave.
