Greg Hurst is an American Anchor working with WREG3 News where he serves the station as an Anchor. He joins WREG3 News from Houston where he was serving as the lead news anchor for CBS News for a number of years.

Hurst works with WREG3 News where he serves the station as a News Anchor. He is happy to be calling Memphis home and has been coming to Memphis for many years. Previously, he was working as an anchor for WABC-TV located in New York where he had worked for about 10 years. Additionally, he was also working with KFMB-TV where he was serving the station as a reporter/anchor in San Diego, California.
Hurst began his broadcast career working with KATV-TV located in Little Rock, Arkansas. With his wife’s family in Memphis and more family down in Little Rock, he is always looking forward to a great family reunion. During his many years on the job, he has had a wealth of experience covering stories around the world. Additionally, he has been awarded a great deal of recognition for his work on and off the news set.
His coverage of the war with Iraq was highly regarded from the time he spent in the Iraqi desert with United States Marines to foot patrol expeditions with the 3rd Infantry Division Terror Squad during firefights on the streets of Baghdad. Additionally, he also made coverage of the eye-opening tours through Saddam Hussein’s Presidential Palaces and took viewers where few people have been.
Both nationally and internationally, he has reported on everything from Washington politics to the Pope in Mexico and Denver, and New York. This is in addition to covering plane crashes, floods, hurricanes, bomb threats, Space Shuttle disasters, and active shooter situations among others. Additionally, he has also traveled coast to coast to report on earthquakes in California and the World Trade Center bombing in New York.
His work has also taken him abroad, reporting from the Kremlin in Russia to the ruins of war in Vietnam. It is his interest in politics that led him to serve as a moderator for numerous political debates and has also allowed him to cover numerous political conventions over the years.
He is actively involved in the local community. Additionally, he volunteers with many organizations like the Lifeline Chaplaincy program, helping cancer patients at MD Anderson Cancer Center. Additionally, he has worked with Small Steps Nurturing Center mentoring inner-city children. Greg also devotes time to the Medina Children’s Home, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, the Cancer League, the Star of Hope homeless, and the American Heart Association among others.
