During his career, he has won multiple awards including winning the Georgia AP Sports Reporter of the Year award twice and a Georgia AP Sportscaster of the Year Award. He also won a Georgia AP Sports Photographer of the Year award and many UPI Sportscasting Awards. Aside from his broadcasting career, he works as a Sunday School teacher and Youth Volunteer at First United Methodist Church.
