John McMahon is an American anchor working for WCAX-TV serving as a morning news anchor. Before joining the station in November 2023, he worked for KTVL as a morning reporter and anchor.

After graduating from high school, John enrolled at Quinnipiac University in 2016 where he received a Bachelor’s degree in Communications and Journalism. He was also a member of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity and worked for Q30 Television. While in college, McMahon served as a studio assistant and equipment room staff from September 2017 to March 2020.

While there, he covered a wide range starting from COVID restrictions to wildfires to conducting interviews with political and state officials.
Before working at KTVL-TV, McMahon worked for CBS Interactive as a sports HQ intern from January 2020 to March 2020. He began his professional career as a digital media intern at WPAA-TV in Wallingford, CT. John spent three months working for the station from September 2019 to November 2019.
Aside from working as an anchor, John served as a production intern at the Talking Information Center for three months. Earlier, he worked for Fairmarkit in Boston where he served as a marketing & sales intern. Besides this, McMahon also served as a ground crew at Pembroke Country Club. During his time there, he controlled basic landscaping and maintained the grounds in and around the golf course. After that, he went on and joined Mother Anna’s Ristorante & Bar serving as a waiter from August 2014 to August 2017.
