Slater is a meteorologist working for KFOR. Slater went to the University of Oklahoma where he attained his degree in meteorology in 1987. After his graduation, he was offered a job at a television station in Lawton, Oklahoma, and his life was forever changed. He had love and passion for weather ever since he was young and would spend most of his time in his bedroom window watching the weather. While he was still in college, he never thought about television as a career and was not planning to be on TV.
Slater has been working in broadcasting meteorology for several years now and has managed to enclose Oklahoma’s weather and has gained popularity for his exquisite storm coverage and forecasting. He has worked under many titles including Chief Meteorologist morning guy to the weekend shift. He has been named Oklahoma’s greatest weather expert.
