As a Multimedia journalist, Karina was in charge of shooting, writing, pitching, and delivering daily news stories. In April 2020, Rubio secured a position as a noon anchor and morning show reporter at WCIA-TV. While there, she produced the Noon newscast daily and delivered live reports to the morning weekday show from 5 a.m. to 10 a.m. Before working as a journalist, she sang live on a Chicago news station age of 16 years while waiting in line to audition for American Idol.
