Kasey Hott Biography

Kasey Hott is an American anchor working at NBC29 where she serves as the co-anchor of the 4, 5, 6, 10 & 11 p.m. newscasts. She joined the NBC29 team in June 2014, after previously working at WGBA-TV. 

She began her career in journalism in Charlottesville in 2009 at NBC29 as a weekend morning anchor and reporter. Later in 2011, she relocated to Green Bay, Wisconsin where she worked at NBC26 for over two years as the 5 p.m. anchor and producer. While she worked at NBC29, she reported on the historic recall of Governor Scott Walker during one of the most frigid winters in Wisconsin history.

In addition, while she worked in Charlottesville for two years, she fell in love with Central Virginia, and in 2014, she decided to go back to NBC29 and serve as an evening anchor. West Virginia is her native home and she attended West Virginia University where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast News. She was also recognized nationally by being named the ABC News On Campus Roving Reporter of the Year for her reports.

In addition, after she rejoined the NBC29 team, she has covered stories that are important to Central Virginia and the Shenandoah Valley residents. Hott also reported live from the 2017 Unite the Right Rally that made headlines worldwide. Later in 2018 and 2019, she was awarded the Virginias Associated Press Broadcasters Meritorious Award for Best TV News Anchor. During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, going to the theatre, singing, and traveling.
