Kate Bieri Biography

Kate Bieri is an American journalist working for WHBQ FOX 13 as the consumer investigator since joining the station in July 2022. Previously, she worked as a reporter at KVIA in her hometown of Las Cruces, New Mexico, for five years.

Kate Bieri Education

Bieri joined Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication in 2013 after finishing her studies at Las Cruces High School. In 2017, she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, and Related Programs.

While in college, she was recognized as the ASU Alumni Association’s outstanding graduate student in May 2017. Further, she interned at KVIA, know99 TV, KTVK, KOB, CBS News New York, and 12 News KPNX. Previously, she worked as a reporter at KVIA in her hometown of Las Cruces, New Mexico, for five years. She produced and anchored the station’s evening newscasts on weekends, chronicling unforgettable events all over El Paso and the Borderland.

During her time in Las Cruces, Bieri broadcast the tragic mass shooting at Walmart in August 2019. Further, she saw the community’s sorrow, devotion, and persistence to recover from the disaster. The New Mexico native welcomes all recommendations for a newcomer to the Mid-South.
