Kate Bolduan is an American anchor, reporter, and correspondent working for CNN. She joined CNN in 2007.

Bolduan was educated at Goshen High School, a public high school in her hometown, followed by George Washington University, from which she graduated Phi Beta Kappa and summa cum laude in 2005, with a degree in journalism and a minor in political science. During her time at the university, she went on the women’s volleyball team and worked with the student theater association. She spent time in Madrid, Spain, during her studies, where she learned to speak Spanish.

Prior to her tenure at CNN affiliates, she worked for WTVD-TV in Raleigh, N.C. where she served as a general assignment reporter. She began her journalism career at NBC News and MSNBC in Washington D.C. where she served as a production assistant.

Bolduan interviewed the Democratic presidential candidate Mayor Pete Buttigieg and his husband Chasten in 2019. This interview was fully credited by members of Congress as contributing to the passage of a sanctions package. Bolduan also went to Afghanistan in 2018 and did an exclusive interview with the top U.S. commander in Afghanistan. Furthermore, she also did CNN’s first interview with Chris Hughes, a Facebook co-founder.
Prior to this role, she served as a congressional correspondent enclosing the activities of the USA Senate and House. She also served as a general assignment correspondent, where she helped in leading the coverage of the historic Supreme Court arguments over the Affordable Care Act. Furthermore, she also enclosed other stories and events including the fight over religious freedom in Salazar v. Buono, the Chicago gun rights case McDonald v. the City of Chicago, and violent video games. She joined the station serving as a multimedia journalist and correspondent.
