There, she was nominated for “Best News Anchor” by the Lone Star EMMY chapter of the NATAS. Prior to joining NBC 5, she worked for KOCO TV as an Anchor & Reporter from June 2011 to November 2014. There, she anchored the station’s fast-paced weekday morning show in the aggressive breaking news market and was a field anchor of big stories-wildfires, tornadoes, OKC memorial & marathon, and Twister Relief Concert, among others. There, she was the first reporter on the scene of a deadly medical helicopter crash. Also, her reporting included a hostage situation ending with the rescue of a six-year-old girl, devastating wildfires, and severe weather storms.
Prior to that, she was a Morning & Midday Anchor & Reporter at KTEN-TV (Lockwood Broadcast Group) from October 2006 to April 2011. There, she anchored & produced 3 hours of morning news including live community interviews, and was a part of the morning team for all Next Media radio stations in Texas, delivering news & entertainment, among others. There, her investigative reports into private jail funding led to resignations and changes in local law enforcement. From October 2004 to April 2005, she was a Grants Intern at the Communities Foundation of Texas. She then interned at Belo Corporation for the Dallas Morning News and WFAA during the political convention in Boston for one month in July 2004.
