Bowers joined Ohio University in 2013 when she finished her high school education. In 2018, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism and Meteorology. There, she worked as an intern for many TV and radio stations that took her to Columbus, Orlando, and New York City. After completing her studies, she moved to Mississippi to further her studies. She then landed her fist job in Lima, Ohio where she worked as a morning and mid-day meteorologist.
Bowers moved to Paducah, Kentucky where she served WPSD as a mid-day and weekend meteorologist after her time in Lima. While in Paducah, she worked with a team that broadcasted the quad-state tornado in December 2021. She was recognized as a Kentucky Colonel, the highest honor from the Kentucky governor’s office, for the station’s life rescuing broadcast. Before moving to Toledo, she worked for WBIR in Knoxville, Tennessee.
