Keith Russell is an American anchor and reporter working for CBS 11. He has been working for the station since joining in 2015.

Keith Russell Career

Russell serves as the Morning News Anchor at KTVT CBS11 Dallas. He previously worked for WTXF FOX 29 where he served as the weekend sports anchor from September 2014 to February 2015. While there, he also co-hosted Eagles Game Day Live Sunday Mornings at 11 am, anchored Weekend 5, 6, and 10 pm sportscasts, and also anchored Fox 29 Sports Sunday.

Prior to his tenure at WTFX, he served as a sports contributor at CNN from December 2013 to March 2014. In this role, he delivered Bleacher Report sports segments during the Morning Express newscast from 6 am to 10 am on weekdays and contributed analysis of trending sports stories on HLN Now from 1 pm to 3 pm on weekdays. Rusell previously spent about 1 year and 1 month working at WRC NBC 4 where he served as a news anchor as well as a reporter from August 2012 to August 2013. While here, he co-anchored 11:00 am – noon newscast weekday, extended coverage of Pope Francis’ coronation, and also hosted MLB opening day coverage from Nationals Park.

From August 2005 to August 2012, he worked for WPVI-TV where he served as a primary sports anchor and was promoted to weekday sports anchor in 2010 after beginning WPVI’s tenure as a weekend sports anchor. While there, he also hosted only live wall-to-wall coverage in the market on the night the Philadelphia Phillies clinched the World Series Title in 2008.

Furthermore, he also hosted Eagles Football Frenzy a 30-minute sponsored recap show with player guests every Sunday night at 11:30 pm. He began his journalism career at ESPN where he served as a sports anchor from March 2000 to August 2005. While there, he also co-anchored a two-hour ESPNews Show on a 24-hour sports network. Rusell went to Central High School Philadelphia in 1988 and attained his Diploma in general studies in 1991. He, later on, joined Morgan State University in 1991 and attained his Bachelor of Science degree in Telecommunications in 1995.
