Kelly Cass Biography
Kelly Cass is an American meteorologist working for The Weather Channel serving as an On-Camera Meteorologist and Co-Host of AMHQ Weekend. She joined the station in January 2000.

Cass earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from Adelphi University on Long Island N.Y. She also holds a certificate of international study from Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea. Additionally, she attained her broadcast meteorologist certificate from Mississippi State University.

Cass is on-air every Saturday and Sunday morning from 5-9 a.m. ET on AMHQ Weekends and also fills in during the week. She had also worked for other stations prior to joining The Weather Channel. For instance, she previously worked for WRGB-TV, the CBS affiliate in Schenectady, NY, where she served for seven years. She was awarded the New York State Broadcasting Award for “best storm coverage” during the blizzard of 1993 while still in WRGB. Her career started off after she was hired as an associate producer and later, a weeknight weather weathercaster at WTZA-TV (now WRNN), an independent station in Kingston, NY. She has also delivered a feature about being selected for a flight in an F-A 18 jet of the Blue Angels unit of the U.S. Navy.
Cass holds the Seal of Approval from the National Weather Association as well as a full member of the American Meteorological Society with the Seal of Approval. She is a Poughkeepsie native who has a special interest in lake effect snow and winter storms. Growing up, she was a big athlete and participated in playing softball, volleyball, and varsity soccer. She also studied tae kwon do while in Korea, achieving her red belt. Whenever she is not working, she enjoys spending her free time with her family, hiking, skiing, and other outdoor activities.
