Hargett attended Trinity High School, where he graduated with a diploma in Broadcast Journalism and earned a speech award. He then attended Morehouse College, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) Cum Laude degree in Political Science and Government and Sports Journalism. Hargett later joined Columbia University graduating in 2014 with a Master’s degree in Broadcast Journalism.

Hargett started as an intern and multimedia journalist at Louisville Metro TV in June 2010, serving until August 2010. He then joined NBC News as an intern in production for three months from June 2011 to August 2011. In January 2012, he joined WXIA 11Alive, in the Greater Atlanta Area, as an intern in production for five months until May 2012. He served as a broadcast journalist at Columbia University in the City of New York from August 2013 to May 2014, earning a Master’s in Science.
From March 2014 to August 2016, he served as a multimedia journalist and consultant with an Independent Consultant. There he served for two years and six months serving different roles under different organizations and companies. Hargett then joined TEGNA, in East Texas KYTX CBS19, working as a multimedia journalist and news reporter for two years and one month.
In September 2018, he joined Gray Television, in the Shreveport, Louisiana Area as a weekend anchor, news reporter, and multimedia journalist until October 2021. He served for three years and two months, working as a KSLA weekend anchor, general assignment reporter, and editor on edits, interviewing, and also performing daily camera operations for news stories. In October 2021 he joined WKRN News 2, in Nashville, Tennessee working full-time as a multimedia, reporter and weekend anchor. He has worked at WRKN News 2 for one year and eleven months to the present, becoming famous for appearing on the screens and for his unique personality.
