Upon graduating from high school, Kevin went on to join Louisiana University in 2013 where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Media Studies and Mass Communication in 2018. He rejoined the station in July 2018 working as a news photographer and sports producer from July 2018 to February 2021. Later on, he landed a role as a sports reporter and anchor in February 2021. Earlier, Kevin worked as a play-by-play commentator at Parkview Digital Network in Baton Rouge. He served the station for four months from November 2019 to February 2020.
Batiste began his journalism career at WAFB TV in Baton Rouge, Louisiana where he served as a sports intern. He also reported college athletics and high school sports events and shadowed reporters. Besides this, he worked for the station from August 2017 to May 2018 where he anchored the newscasts at 6 & 10 p.m. Previously, Kevin served as a camera operator at Sun Belt Conference in Lafayette. He spent one month working for the station from May 2016 to June 2016.
Prior to working for the Sun Belt Conference, he worked for ESPN in Lafayette, Louisiana where he served as a replay operator. He worked for the station for one month from June 2014 to July 2014. Kevin’s passion for being a sports reporter began at a young age when his mother scolded him for not being productive. He spends more of his time watching sports and he is excited that he got the chance to fulfill his dream. What he loves the most about his work is the opportunity it gives him to share with the local athlete’s stories.
