Kristen Remington Biography

Kristen Remington is an American Emmy award-winning Anchor/Reporter working with KTVN Channel 2 News where he serves the station as an Evening Anchor and HealthWatch Reporter. She has been working with the station since the year 2003. 

Kristen Remington Career

Remington works with KTVEN-TV where he serves the station as an Evening Anchor and Health Watch Reporter, She joined the station in 2003 after her graduating with honors from the University of Southern California. She is a former “Miss Nevada Teen USA” and grew up in Reno. Remington graduated from McQueen before studying Broadcast Journalism and Communications in the Entertainment Industry at USC. She has since earned an Edward R. Murrow Award, a national Gracie Award for her work, and two Associated Press Awards.

She represented Nevada as one of seven reporters from around the country to interview President Obama inside the White House. Despite her coverage in Washington, D.C. marking one -of her greatest career accomplishments, her most memorable story centered around a little bot with anemia.

As she shared her story, she learned she has a special blood type crucial for sick children and cancer patients. For her, it was an honor to watch him receive her blood during one of her regular donations. She was also honored on the same stage as June Pauley for her “Breast Cancer 2 Bikini” half-hour special. Kristen followed a group of cancer survivors for six months as they worked to reclaim their bodies after treatment. The end result of this was a fitness competition.

Away from work, she enjoys chauffeuring her children around town, emceeing events, and working out. She also enjoys being active which is evidenced by summiting Mt. Whitney and the fitness competition and marathon she attended. She believes “health is wealth after her husband fought Leukemia while she was pregnant.

Remington served on a number of boards including the Truckee Meadow Law Enforcement Chaplaincy, the Local Emergency Planning Committee and Think Kindness, The Nevada Women’s Fund named Kristen a “Woman of Achievement” and was honored to receive the 20 Under 40″ award through the Young Couple Professionals Network. Additionally, she also received the title of “Celebrity of the Year” by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. This is in addition to being voted “Best Local Anchor” eight times in the Reno News and Review by Northern Nevadans.
