Kweilyn Murphy is an American meteorologist working for WTVD News in North Carolina. She was WDSU News This Morning’s meteorologist and could also be seen on WDSU News at Noon which premiered last September.

Murphy attended Ohio University where she graduated with a Broadcast Journalism degree with a specialization in English and Children’s Television. She then attended Mississippi State University where she obtained her Certificate of Meteorology.

Prior to joining WDSU News, Murphy was in Greenville, North Carolina where she served as a Weekend Meteorologist. Before that, Murphy served as a freelance meteorologist at KDKA-TV in her hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She was introduced to television and started sharpening her skills at WQED Multimedia, where she worked with the likes of Mister Rogers and helped to produce several national Doo Wop television productions and station events.

During her free time, Murphy loves exercising. She is active in the New Orleans community and enjoys teaching Public Speaking/Communications and Professional Development to high school students. Additionally, she loves to dance and is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
