Kyla is a Rayville, Louisiana native who has worked in broadcast television news for over seven years. She graduated from Grambling State University, a prominent historically black college, with a B.A. in Mass Communication. Kyla earned a master’s degree in mass communication from the University of Louisiana at Monroe. After graduating from college, she worked for nearly three years as a news producer for KTBS 3 News in Shreveport, Louisiana.
In November 2016, Kyla joined the KTVE/KARD team as a News Producer. She was promoted to Executive Producer and soon after began filling in as an anchor. Kyla is now a reporter for FOX 14 News at 5:30 p.m. and FOX 14 News at 9:00 p.m. Kyla’s work philosophy is “work smarter, not harder.” She thinks it’s a brilliant concept that will help her succeed in the fast-paced world of journalism. She enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and watching television.
