Kyle Kiel is an American meteorologist, reporter, and anchor working at KWQC where he served as a midday meteorologist, featured reporter, and fill-in anchor. He joined KWQC in November 2021, after previously working at KWWL.

In 2005, Kiel joined Moline High School where he graduated with a diploma in 2009. He then joined Black Hawk College where he graduated with an Associate of Arts in 2011. In addition, he also graduated from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science in meteorology with a minor in Geography in 2013.

Kiel works at KWQC where he served as a midday meteorologist, featured reporter, and fill-in anchor. North Carolina is his birth home however, he was brought up in the Quad Cities. His interest in weather started at a young age after a meteorologist visited his school and he was afraid of the weather after a tornado touched down near his school in third grade. In addition, while Kyle was in college, he interned at WQAD in Moline, where he served as a production assistant.
He also interned at TV6’s sister station WIFR in Rockford, Illinois. After he had graduated, he was able to secure a job at WHBF in Rock Island where he served as a multimedia journalist and meteorologist. Before he joined KWQC, he had worked at KWWL-TV in Waterloo, Iowa for 6 and a half years while serving as a meteorologist. While he worked at KWWL-TV, he covered many winter storms, and tornado outbreaks record cold and he was in the field with the station’s storm-chasing vehicle when the historic August 2020 derecho occurred.
