Shehadi attended Langley High School in McLean, Virginia, where she graduated with a diploma in 2001. She then enrolled at the University of Florida, where she worked as the host of the online Gatorzone, before graduating.

Shehadi started off as the host of the online Gatorzone while in college. She also served as an intern for The Best Damn Sports Show Period and as a sports anchor for KXMC-TV in Minot, North Dakota. Lauren then worked for CBSSports.com and CBS College Sports Network. She also served as the host of numerous videos on CBSSports.com and was the co-host of the SEC Tailgate show and the ALT Games alongside Johnny Moseley on the CBS College Sports Network. Shehadi was a candidate for Playboy’s ”Sexiest Sportscaster” contest in 2010.

In 2012, she joined the MLB Network. Shehadi previously hosted the Rundown on MLB Network alongside Matt Yallof and presently hosts MLB Central together with Robert Flores and Mark DeRosa. In January 2018, she began hosting a podcast titled The Podium, a podcast between NBC Sports Group and Vox Media. The podcast focuses on athletes and events at the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in PyeongChang, South Korea. In October of the same year, she served as the on-field commentator during TBS’s coverage of the 2018 American League Championship Series.

Lauren was then revealed on March 10, 2020, to be a sideline reporter for CBS and Turner’s March Madness coverage for the first time. She was planned to work alongside Andrew Catalon and former Villanova head coach Steve Lappas. Shehadi was replacing Lisa Byington, who was elevated to the No. 6 team alongside Spero Dedes, Wally Szczerblak, and Steve Smith, replacing Ros-Onwude, who left Turner Sports for ESPN. However, Lauren, along with Dwyane Wade and Adam Lefkoe, had their NCAA Tournament debuts pushed back to 2021, as the 2020 tournament was canceled two days later over concerns about COVID-19.
