Lyndsey Gough Biography
Lyndsey Gough is an American journalist working for WKYT as a sports anchor since joining the station in October 2022. Previously, she worked in Savannah, Georgia at WTOC for nearly four years.
Lyndsey Gough Education
Gough joined the University of Kentucky in 2011 when she finished her high school education. In 2015, she graduated with a Bachelor Of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism. During college, she held various internships including interning at ESPN Lexington and hosting the first RuppTV. During her senior year, she worked for the UK Sports Video department. Further, she was an alumna of Alpha Omicron Pi.

Gough works for WKYT as a sports anchor. The western Kentucky native returned to the bluegrass after working in Savannah, Georgia at WTOC for nearly four years. There, she was the first female sports director in the Savannah market. She also broadcasted sports all over South Georgia and the South Carolina Lowcountry such as the Masters, the stars of the internet: the Savannah Bananas, and Georgia’s National Championship run.
Gough fell in love with Lexington on her first visit to the region during an FFA trip high school trip. She is thrilled to return to Lexington and join WKYT’s sports department, broadcasting the UK (her alma mater), and sports around the Commonwealth.
After graduating college, Gough began her career working at WBKO in Bowling Green, Kentucky as a multimedia journalist. Next, she was promoted to weekend producer and anchor. She moved to Louisville, Kentucky where she was a sports journalist. In Louisville, she broadcasted sports across the state at all levels and was a producer, reporter, and anchor at Kentucky Sports Television and cnI2(now Spectrum News Kentucky).
Gough has broadcasted a Heisman Trophy winner, Kentucky Derbies, bowl games, state championships, several NCAA Tournament berths, and the PGA TOUR. As a journalist, she has worked in both news and sports. She loves watching sports at any level and is thrilled to meet the people of central Kentucky.
