Marcia Lense Biography
Marcia Lense is an American anchor and producer working at KWQC where she serves as a noon anchor and producer. She joined the KWQC team in 1988 as a morning and evening anchor and producer.
Over the years, she has earned honors from the Associated Press, the Society of Professional Journalists, and both Iowa and Illinois Broadcast Associations for documentary, investigative, special programs, and public affairs reporting. She produced two programs that received Emmy nominations. Before she joined KWQC, she worked at television stations in her hometown of Rockford, Illinois, and in Moline, Cedar Rapids.
In addition, she has been actively promoting her Alma Mater, Western Illinois University and she has served on a number of alumni boards in addition to being honored with the WIU Alumni Achievement Award for her excellence in community endeavors and professional. Furthermore, she has served on many boards and committees in her community including being a Board of Directors for Churches United of the Quad Cities. In the years 1991 and 1993, she was the Number One Rated Early News anchor in the country.
