Immediately after finishing high school, Margo joined Florida University where she graduated with a minor in Sociology and a degree in Telecommunications. While in college, she worked for WUFT News 5 and WRUF AM 850 radio station where she served as a reporter. Later on, Gray was hired at WKMG CBS Local 6 in Orlando where she interned.

She also covered the child custody cases where she unveiled the hiring of an unlicensed behavioral specialist in the Department of Human Resources. On top of this, Gray has attained national attention for her investigative reports.
Before working at WAFF-TV, Margo served as a reporter at WWAY News 3 in Wilmington, North Carolina for two years. For her series on education, she was honored with the Radio Television Digital News Association of the Carolinas award. Her remarkable story involves a pyramid scheme organization that robbed thousands of farmers which made her to be acknowledged by the Better Business Bureau of North Alabama.
Gray began her professional career at WCJB TV20 News, the ABC affiliate in Gainesville. While there, she served as an assignment manager a role she served for some time. Aside from working as a journalist, Margo is also active in various organizations such as the National Association of Black Journalists. She also teaches etiquette classes and mentors local youth.
