Earlier, Marissa served as a reporter at Fighting Illini Productions from August 2017 to June 2018. She also conducted weekly interviews with the UIUC football team, athletics, and players. Before working at Fighting Illini Productions, Sulek worked in Urbana-Champaign as a sideline reporter at Big Ten Network Student U. Sulek also explored the Tennessee State Representative’s secretary who was charged with bribery and fraud.

Apart from working as a journalist, Marissa served as a Panhellenic Council president at the University of Illinois Panhellenic Council. While there, she also worked for Starcom as a strategy and investment intern from June 2017 to August 2017. Earlier, Sulek worked as a customer service intern and sales at Entertainment Cruises From May 2016 to June 2016. After that, she worked for three months as a contact center team leader intern.
