In 1991, Mark joined KCRA, but his interest in the weather began long before that. Mark, who grew up in New Hampshire, was always curious about the weather. He began his television career in Portland, Maine, after studying meteorology at the University of Utah. He served in Rochester, N.Y., as well. Before landing in Sacramento.
Since his arrival, Mark has covered all of the big weather events. Mark has been here for all of it, from flooding in the winter to tornadoes in the spring and the heat waves of summer. Mark was one of the first meteorologists in the country to receive the American Meteorological Society’s Certified Broadcast Meteorologist status. Every year since 2000, he has been named ‘Best TV Weather Guy’ by Sacramento Magazine. Mark loves golfing, hiking, and visiting the wine country while not at the workplace.
