Maryalice Demler is an American Award-winning anchor and reporter working for WGRZ-TV. She has been working for the station since joining in September 1993.
Maryalice Demler Career
Demler serves as the anchor of Channel 2 News at 5:30, 6:00, 10:00, and 11:00 every weeknight at WGRZ-TV, the NBC affiliate in Buffalo, NY. In addition to this, she has also enclosed several events including World Youth Day with Pope John Paul II in Toronto and the Olympic Games in Salt Lake City. She also made a few reports from Rome, Italy for the funeral of Pope John Paul II. Maryalice and the Papal Conclave elected Pope Francis. She also went to New York City to do an extensive report on Pope Benedict’s visit and the funeral of NBC Political Analyst and Buffalo native Tim Russert in Washington, D.C.
Demler went to Niagara University where she attained her bachelor’s degrees in both political science and French. She was also awarded crowned “Miss New York State” in 1990. She started her journalism career at WJYE-FM in Buffalo where she served as a morning radio personality. Prior to this, she taught middle school French and worked as a special projects director at DeGraff Memorial Hospital.

For instance, she received the Niagara University Alumni Founder’s Award and Business First’s 40 Under 40 Outstanding Community Leaders. She also won the Buffalo Spree Magazine “Best of Buffalo” honoree and Erie Community College President’s Award as Outstanding Communicator & Educational Advocate. Some of them include St Vincent DePaul Award for service to the community and Cheektowaga Police Department Award for Dedication to Youth.
