Matt Hoenig Biography
Matt Hoenig is a well-reputed American Meteorologist for the Storm Watch 9 team at WMUR-TV in Manchester, New Hampshire, U.S.A. He joined WMUR in July 2022. In 2023, he earned the Certified Broadcast Meteorologist seal from the American Meteorological Society.

They were watching a line of severe thunderstorms roll in across the lake. Right along the leading edge, we saw a quick spin-up tornado touch down on the lake. It came ashore probably no more than 100 yards from where we stayed and dissipated in the woods across the road. Truly the right place, the right time weather event, and still the only tornado I’ve ever seen!
Besides working in WMUR and WGME, he has also worked in other stations like; WZTV-TV (Nashville, TN), Sun Journal (Lewiston, ME), WMTW-TV (Auburn, ME), WPTZ-TV (South Burlington, VT), NewsBreak, KATV-TV (Little Rock, AR), WGME-TV (Portland, ME), WWMT-TV (Kalamazoo, MI), WCTI-TV (New Bern, NC), WSTM-TV (Syracuse, NY), The National Desk, KRCG-TV (New Bloomfield, MO), KRXI-TV (Reno, NV), KPTM-TV (Omaha, NE), WPFO-TV (Portland, ME). While he was an intern at WCVB in Boston, he covered a tornado outbreak on Cape Cod. Also, he has covered a “true” blizzard as well as numerous winter storms and severe weather events.
