Matt Johnson is an American Meteorologist working with KSL-TV where he serves the station as a Weather Anchor/Reporter since joining the station in April 2022. Prior to KSL-TV, he was working with KUTV-TV where he served the station as a weather anchor/producer.

Johnson works with KSL-TV where he serves the station as a Meteorologist. He happens to be among the newest members of the KSL Weather team. There he serves the station as a Meteorologist for KSL Today and Noon shows. Born and raised in Northern California, his love for weather came at the young age of 9 years old when he saw snow fall from the sky for the very first time. This was in November 1999, during a lake-effect snow event near Spanish Fork.
He is a proud graduate of the University of Utah where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Atmospheric Science. He has been forecasting weather in Utah since the year 2014. Among his greatest passions are weather, sports, and family. He suffers from a mild addiction to Pickleball.
Asides from that, he served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. At the moment, he resides in Utah County. Prior to KSL-TV, he was working at KUTV 2 News where he was serving the station as a weather producer and meteorologist.
He joined KUTV 2 News in December 2017 and left the station in the year 2022. Away from work, he enjoys baseball, basketball, skiing, and any sport that comes to mind. Additionally, he also enjoys chit-chatting with friends and family.
