Meaghan Thomas is an American journalist and TV host, currently serving as a Morning Meteorologist at WKRN News 2 in Nashville, Tennessee. She started working for the station in July 2020 and appears every morning from 4:30 to 7 a.m., 11 a.m., and during severe weather breaks.

Thomas attended the University of Alabama, graduating in 2012, with a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast News and Geography. She then graduated from Mississippi State University in 2014, with a master’s degree in Broadcast Meteorology.

Thomas joined the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association as an undergraduate after graduating in 2012. As well as a storm spotter and storm chaser with certification. While at MSU, she also served as a teaching assistant in the Department of Communications. She then served as a meteorologist at WCBI, a CBS station in Columbus, MS, throughout her graduate studies. On April 28, 2014, she assisted in covering the tornado outbreak in Mississippi.
Following leaving Mississippi in 2014, Thomas joined the ABC affiliate in Birmingham. She covered everything from tornadoes to ice storms for the residents of Central Alabama as their weekend and morning meteorologist at ABC 33/40. Thomas served as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Alabama, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama from August 2015 to May 2016. From May 2014 to July 2017, she served as the weekend Meteorologist for the Sinclair Broadcast Group, in Birmingham, Alabama. There she also worked as the TV Host for Talk of Alabama from May 2015 to July 2020 hosting a summer concert series sponsored by Pepsi and delivering compelling interviews.
She then served as the Morning Meteorologist for ABC 33/40 from July 2017 to July 2020. Thomas prepared and delivered daily weather content on all platforms and urgent weather updates, among other duties. In July 2020, she joined Nexstar Media Group, Inc., in Nashville, Tennessee as the WKRN News 2 Morning Meteorologist. She works full-time to date, appearing every morning from 4:30 to 7 a.m., 11 a.m., and during severe weather breaks. Thomas also analyzes weather data prepares forecast graphics, and communicates with the news department regarding hazardous weather.
She is also the founder of The Heart of Hearing from December 2021 to the present. Thomas wears bi-lateral hearing aids and the mission of the foundation is to improve lives by providing hearing aids to young professionals who cannot afford them through their fundraisers and events.
