Melody Mendez Biography

Melody Mendez is an American and award-winning anchor and reporter currently working at NBC 10 Boston. She joined NBC 10 Boston in the Spring of 2016.

She comes to Boston after anchoring the morning show at Chicago’s WFLD. She comes to Boston after anchoring the morning show at Chicago’s WFLD. Over the last decade, she has traveled to cities across the country, from Jackson, Tennessee, to Champaign, Illinois, and Seattle, Washington, to Denver, Colorado, and, most recently, Chicago. She has covered major national stories such as Hurricane Katrina and the Aurora, Colorado theater shooting.

Melody is fulfilling a lifelong dream of returning to New England with this move. Melody has traveled the world, but her favorite trips have always been to see her family in Lima, Peru.  Melody is a classically trained singer who enjoys traveling, reading, water and snow skiing, and spending time on the water. She is a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists and the Society of Professional Journalists, as well as a volunteer for the American Cancer Society and Special Olympics.
